Building Capacity to Advance Health
The Building Capacity to Advance Health (BCAH) certificate program is dedicated to enhancing the leadership capacity of managers within governmental public health agencies. BCAH aims to provide unique opportunities to learn about actionable health equity approaches, share strategic planning methods, and make new connections with those looking to address health equity at varied levels of governmental jurisdiction. The three-month certificate program is carefully structured to provide timely and relevant learning experiences that align with participants’ professional goals. It consists of eight sessions that range from fundamental health equity concepts, applying equity to data collection methodology, and policy development. This unique program boasts small cohort sizes to allow for authentic connections with public health colleagues nationwide and from U.S. territories. BCAH includes thoughtfully selected programming and incorporates microlearning sessions, guided application activities, and a capstone project. These elements are crafted to ensure that participants not only gain knowledge, but also have opportunities to implement what they learn in their daily work.
