Power of Partnerships Health Equity Alliance Steering Committee Members
ASTHO, CDC, and the National Association of State Offices of Minority Health are partnering to establish a long-standing network of health equity partners: the Power of Partnerships Health Equity Alliance (Alliance). The Alliance is a network committed to expanding infrastructure, building partnerships, and identifying national and community-based partners that can be mobilized to assist communities across the country in meeting their ongoing needs and engage states and communities during emergencies and non-emergency situations. The Alliance represents different geographic regions, professional areas (i.e., community-based, health equity, minority health, women’s health, community-based organizations, and non-governmental organizations), and levels of government (i.e., federal, state, and local) that have the opportunity to impact change in their agencies.
The Steering Committee is the leadership body for the Alliance that consists of committed subject matter leaders who provide governance, strategic leadership, oversight, and national coordination of information for Alliance partners. Members shape the direction and advance the Alliance’s mission to “connect, strengthen, amplify, and enrich innovations, strategies, resources, and training to promote and foster transformative health equity practices and policies.”
Each member commits to:
• Provide advice and direction on formalizing the Alliance and implementing the project work plan based on feedback from their peers (e.g., quarterly topic recommendations, evidence-based/promising health equity strategies, etc.).
• Attend monthly virtual steering committee meetings.
• Attend and actively engage in the quarterly virtual Alliance meetings.
• Serve as my.ASTHO Champion.
• Share resources/best practices.
