Kentucky Excellence in Executive Public Health Leaders

Kentucky Excellence in Executive Public Health (KEEPh) is a customized program for a cohort of leaders from the state of Kentucky, based on ASTHO's Essentials of Leadership and Management (ELM) training program. Participants work through a flexible, blended learning approach that features case examples, networking, and coaching, along with relevant and timely resources and job aids. ELM prepares new and existing supervisors for their roles within governmental public health agencies. The program builds on core management and leadership competencies that further develop and sharpen skills among public health leaders, resulting in a better and more sustainable work environment. ELM is designed to help participants develop the skills needed to be effective governmental public health leaders. Because most supervisors never receive formal training on leading and managing, ELM provides content about leadership styles, decision-making, communication, team building, and more. Participants in the cohort program also have the opportunity to network with other leaders in the field and receive coaching from experienced professionals.
